    True, but around then, all I got was "you bought a land Rover?? look at all the trouble the Leyland Brothers had with them.. I think the myth began with them... The fact that the Landies were expected to perform above & beyond their capability just never registered with the majority. Pity they didn't use Jeeps, by the time they got Jeep sponsorship, I reckon they had learnt a lot.

    I was only a little kid at the time of Off The Beaten Track, but even then I realised they overloaded their Land Rover to buggery. When they got Jeeps and later T#%$@as, they had back up crews and film and sound equipment had got much smaller. If you look in the later episodes in their cars they are nearly empty.

    I have driven it around with the Holden in it. Hopefully next time or soon it will have a LR six in it It will be a labour of love though. Will find the original thread for it
