    This here Website....

Is anyone else experiencing massive delays switching between pages?
Over the past couple of days, it takes ages to log in, then ages to move around within the site. It's mega S L O W Today seems particularly worse.

It often happens if there is poor weather along the Eastern Seaboard, a lot of people log on and the server can only handle so many at a time, and the only way to remedy that is to have more subscribers that way Inc can afford a larger server/pipe
Remembering that many years ago,AULRO started off as a little box under Incisor's desk at his work, with the hope that maybe a couple of hundred members.

Lordy, how it has grown, about 18,000 now

    cheers

    Thanks UncleHo.
Maybe we should start a little Fundraiser.
If all of us donated one dollar, 18k would buy him a hell of a rip snortin server!

Yup! if a lot more folk became subscribers it would go a long way towards helping, as it is only subscribers and income from advertisements that keeps the site going, and with a lot of work from the Mods.

    cheers

Dunno but it could be that your hardrive might need cleaning.

My thingy slows down abit at times so I use "Evidencesmart " to clean up the hardrive at least once a day and always before I switch the PC off.

No dramas with speed for me at the moment but it does slow from time to time as mentioned when heavily used. Inc will never put pressure on anyone to subscribe as the purpose of this site is to make information available to anyone irrespective of financial situation. It is the reason that the majority of the site is open to anyone who wants to look at it, and not locked up like some I won't mention unless you pay your way.

If you get something from the site that saves you a few dollars or just enjoy the time you spend here, then a one off donation or a subscription if you can afford it would always be welcome I'm sure, but again, there is no pressure or expectation that anyone do so.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

I think Inc does a great job with the equipment he has...

I have a pic of his computer server down in his basement (note the piece of auscam tucked in the box)

and a picture of his terminal... he says it looks old but he keeps updating the innards... I don't know of these things.

I havent had many problems... Cheers
