Today on the bus was BAD! I simply couldn't take the tour leader any more. I was ready to get off and walk.
Elisabeth gave me two Temazepan (similar to Valium), I got the iPhone, a set of earbuds and turned the sound up as loud as I could get it. Even Alice Cooper, AC/DC, and Marilyn Manson couldn't drown out the commentary.
When we stopped for lunch I had a beer and that, combined with the Valium and the music, and Elisabeth asking the tour leader to drop the volume, calmed me enough to stay on the bus.
However, the other old farts on the bus complained they couldn't hear her even though she was still pounding through to my brain.
It was so bad that I couldn't concentrate on the scenery. All I could concentrate on was trying to shut her out.
But I couldn't go out to for the dinner cruise on the lake here at Lugano. I couldn't face putting up with the tour leader again. Instead I caught the funicular railway to the top of the mountain Monte San Salvatore and then climbed to the top of the church tower which overlooks the city.
Unfortunately, it's back onto the bus again tomorrow. I am dreading it and am really hating this part of the trip.
