We do the same. It all goes on the card each month and paid out each month before the interest kicks in.
We have a points credit card which earns points each time we spend. There is a yearly fee for this, but we always seem to be able to buy something with the points earned worth more that the card fee.
So far, a BBQ, 2xtv, 1xfridge and other assorted smaller household items.
As said, in the meantime each month we earn interest on the savings before we pay the credit card.
One advantage we noticed with this is that at start of the year, you get rates, power & water all at once, yet they have different due dates and power will let you extend without penalty, so we are normally able to get each one into 3 credit card cycles rather than having to pay them in one month.
Works for us anyway.
