Thread: the political correctness and do gooders have gone too far

How has any money been wasted and, if so, whose fault was it?
In Norrie's case, it was the department's refusal to act reasonably by having a third box for X, as already exists for passports and in some other cases, which resulted in this going to court, so you should be complaining about a NSW Government department wasting NSW taxpayer's money disputing this, which wasn't Norrie's fault.
The High Court is there to be the final judge on disputed issues. The judges get paid no matter what case is before them, or even if they're off fishing for all I know.
Who cares if Norrie wants to be male, female or X - I certainly don't. Besides, personal liberty is still important you know, even if we do live in a Surveillance State. If someone else wants to be a s/him or whatever, that's their right. If we support personal freedom, then we should be on Norrie's side.

Not all Aussies want to be labelled or even viewed as progressives. In fact, I understand more are likely to see themselves as conservative.

It does seem however the public service needs a flush out of over zealous progressives to better reflect the peoples position. Maybe the court system should go first. Then the health and education systems where the majority of bleeding heart progressives seem to hide.

Great so now you want all Australians to be red-necked bigots so are advocating a little genocide of liberal progressives.

Great democracy Australia would become as it regresses to the mean singularity of red-necked bigot.

For your information, it wasn't any bleeding heart progressives who initiated this action. It was a conflict between laws where the NSW Government agency responsible needed direction from the High Court to allow a citizen their individual rights. The same sort of conflict that lead to the creation of the flag that you so proudly display in your signature line.

Nice. So now it's down to name calling... Nice.

I have nothing against these "special" people. However, I do object to the bleeding heart, self serving, enablers continually wasting money instead of just telling them the big bad world is a horrid, tuff place, so get a grip and get on with it.

Weak knee'd, lilly livered, bleeding hearts create the issue by promoting processes that produce answers to questions that aren't really there. Feeding off and enabling those with issues to focus on nonsense so they can keep their own snouts in the trough.

Not the same. And just realised this is becoming a political thread. No more for me.

The Federal Attorney-General the Hon George Brandis MP has publically stated that it is acceptable to be a bigot. Given that the highest Law officer in the land has made that statement, how can it be considered "name calling".

You have a right to be a bigot and make bigotted statements and that is now acceptable. You should be proud to stand up an call yourself a bigot.

Just like Norrie wants to be understood as gender neutral or gender unstated .

And for the conservatives it's always about money. "Their" money. That they contribute to make the society they live in work better. Oscar Wilde said it best:

"The cynic knows the price of everything and the value of nothing."
Luckily there's a reasonable percentage of feeling, sane people in Australia who want to live in a better society and are damned proud to contribute their bit.
