new Years eve, we go to the fireworks at 9pm in the city.
walking in you have to pass quite a number of people selling flashing toys etc, hard to say No to minime . he chose a pair of red and blue flasing rabbit ears. $5.00
after the fireworks we headed to a party in Golden grove.
driving past a checkpoint w got waved on.
1 am heading home, cop car flashing lights we get pulled over. a member of the public had complained of a red land rover 110 was displaying red and blue flashing lights. minime ears. cops were good had a giggle out of it but did ask my son nicely if he could turn them off when dad was driving.
Over the last few months on the same section of road, I've been regularly passing what I suspect to be the same Highway Patrol car. More than likely driven by the same member of the constabulary. Each time we pass, his brake lights flick om. I can only guess he wants to pull me over but decides not to because it would mean overtaking several cars and trucks at high speed in rather windy and hilly terrain for him to catch up to me.
Well, last night we passed and there were no other cars about. As soon as I saw his brake lights flash on, I started slowing and moving off the road. By the time he completed his u turn and pulled up behind me, I was out of the car with license in hand. I followed him as he inspected my tyres, blew into the breathalyser when instructed, and patiently waited whilst he went back to his car and did a license and registration check. When done, he handed back my license, we exchanged pleasantries and were both on our way.
I'm getting good at this. It was almost as quick as a Bathurst pit stop.
Must be slow out there , what a complete waste of time. Just shows that some try to find something to pin on you while others actually wait til you do something wrong .

I reckon your commodore looks a lot like one they've had 'issues' with in the past, serious enough to suspect either nu-registered or no license...so it's a 'there he is' moment, only to discover complete opposite... just guessing...
