Dolphin meat on the menu, Taiwan

When we did our fishery patrols, back in the 80's, coming up behind the Taiwanese fishing boats , it wasn't unusual to see dead dolphin floating in their wake. Even though they were searched thoroughly, none could be found on board. Obviously, the routine for them was , upon sighting a patrol boat, ditch them. They are still catching them. Bob

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Oh well, I guess that we have to accept the culture of some countries.
It upset me that in Korea, Vietman, China and Switzerland among other countries they eat dog meat

My wife is Swiss and hadn't heard of that one. She's from the wrong canton. She says one can't even own a dog unless one passes a test.

Just as other cultures have to accept ours, Arthur. Like Hindu nations such as India accepting our love of beef, or Jewish nations accepting our love of a good bacon sandwich.

I listened to a debate about this on radio a little while ago. In the end they concluded that we, humans, eat animals and a dolphin is just part of the food chain. Perhaps the methods of catching them is more the issue.

Ron, the commercial production of dog meat is illegal but some people consume it or used to use it in traditional recipes like gedörrtes Hundefleisch (smoked dog ham)
It would be interesting if your wife can do some research about it and gedörrtes Hundefleisch.
I have relatives there because my great grandmother was Swiss that I lost contact with them.

    Cheers

In thailand I saw a dolphin disected in the middle of a marketplace on a tarp on the ground. Within about 10 minutes everthing was sold and the guy selling it disappeared into the crowd. Everyone were looking over their shoulders as it was happening so I guess it wasn't allowed but it was happening out in the open.
