Hi Lionel,
I have noticed this in community sectors myself. Perhaps it will pay to call them. Also lets them put a voice to the name which can be an advantage and shows your interest.

G'day All,
I am just wondering if anyone is employed within the community health sector providing support to people with a disability?
I applied for a job and it did not state the award rate, or if it was contract or ongoing. I have looked for other roles that are similar in nature on Seek.Com.au and it seems that it is standard practice in the industry not to include pay scales for this type of work
I was previously employed in the industry so I know it is not a high paying sector.
Kind Regards
Lionel

G'day mate , my daughter works as a carer in an old peoples home , she is level 3 , I think the pay is around the $ 20 mark , I think for what they do ,and what they get paid , compared to other jobs , is very poor . That is in Vic. I would think Queensland would be on par.
Hello JP,
Thank you for your reply and for your suggestion.
It seems that asking what the wage is during a job interview appears on the "Not to Do list" of many job applications guides. They cite how it comes across as the applicant appearing too mercenary. In it only for the money.
It is funny how a lot of the jobs advertised on Seek.Com.au or Indeed do have a completed box that states the pay range for a job being advertised right upfront, before you even click on the "more details" link.
Within the community sector they just describe words such as how a "An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate including tax benefits through salary packaging".
I suppose attractive is a bit like beauty - in the eye of the beholder.
Oh well I had best be a patient little person and wait for things to be revealed all in the goodness of time. That is so unlike meWhat was that old A4 poster with a vulture perched on top of a rapidly failing animal. "Patience my arse".
Kind Regards
Lionel

Hello Lewy,
Thank you very much for putting up the different pay scales - it is much appreciated. Yes the pay scale things are a bit negotiable at times.
Is that a state or federal award by the way
Kind Regards
Lionel
Thats the national award
Sent from my ME371MG using AULRO mobile app
Outside of government work, it's all national system these days.
As for awards and enterprise bargaining agreements, sure the pay scales can be different but an EBA will only be approved by FWA if the employees are better off overall.
