Landrover Toy Cars

Hey Guys,
Its my sons Bday soon, and im hunting for a Range Rover Classic toy car for him. Anyone know where I might pick one up from? I seen a few on Ebay in the past but I was hoping for something more than a matchbox size toy.

Regards

Try any of the model shops in your area, they can normally halp with a nice die-cast model, some can get pricey as well as certian brands are more collectable.

But shouldnt be hard to find.

BigW has a selection of 95-01 type RR's & SII Discos (Matchbox size). There's also some mega chunky Freelander models (about 2 x Matchbox size) that are the pullback & release type.
Make great pressies for the kids .

Arvo RobG65,

Ok,
(ya gonna love this...not! )
The one you can buy from Land Rover costs $131.31 (approx)
Part #: LRO 0572.
It is the current 2004 model.
It is only availible in 'Giverney Grey'
It is 1: 18 scale.

I have one (others didn't want it - i seem to be a dumping ground for this stuff)
It is pretty :? , nothing opens and the wheels move. Thats all i can tell you about it.

They do not make a 'classic' model anymore.
Or: you can go for the collectors 'pewter' edition for a mere...$1,540.00 - 8O 8O 8O you did read correctly...more than $1k....OUCH!

Right....I'm done
(am sourcing a non-L/R one for you too...) Sure this one will be much more fun and cheaper for the young one!

Back soon with details....

Cheers
Knight

hmmmm,

Well, it does seem that no-one makes a 1:18 scale Rangie anymore!

But i did find a couple of good model car suppliers (not all are in VIC though)

Here it goes:

http://www.shiremodels.com.au/public/home.ehtml
= Shire Models, 814 Old Princes Highway, Sutherland NSW 2232,
Ph02) 9542 4954

http://www.pitstopmodelcars.com.au/index.asp
= PITSTOP MODEL CARS, 41 Bakery Square, Melton, Victoria 3337
Ph: (03) 9743 1100

http://www.diecastdownunder.com/pages/dd-home.htm
= Diecast Down Under - a magazine for all you model needs - Maybe you can contact a 'guru' from here and see what they can tell you?

All of the above have a great range of L/R models, yet they are alot smaller than the one you are looking for! (mostly matchbox sizes)

That's it folks, that's all i got......

Good Luck with it.....

Cheers
Knight

Gday Everyone!,
Thanks for the ideas...I have found a small P38 Rangie that will do for now, until I can find a Classic.

THanks for your efforts Knight!....but rather than spending $1540 for a pewter edition, I think that money could be better spent on a front locker...hmmmmm.

Though I might let him have the 2004 diecast just so he can say he's is better than mine..lol.

cheers
