    Falcon GT-F

Ford are doing a final GT Falcon, the GT F(for final).
    550 of them @$90000
351kw,up from the last ones 335kw(which actually produces 375kw for 20 seconds under full boost)
Ford Performance vehicles were getting 435kw from the 5litre motor but couldnt build a strong enough gearbox or diff to handle the power, ford dropped it due to the demise of the falcon.
Apparentley some of the aussie engineering in the aust spec 5litre is going back to the USA as we aussies were getting more out of the motor than the yanks.

Yep they had a write up in the local rag today, seems the 351kw is in honour of the original GT 351. Would likely be a collecters item, but 90 big ones is a few coins that's for sure.

    Cheers Ean

    Thumbs up

Landy Andy, You are correct in what you say, but it has nothing to do with the diff or the gearbox, which problems could easily easily have been rectified.
The real problem was with the Falcon bodyshell, inparticular the firewall, which suffered extreme stress/ possible fracture isues, with the torque created with the BRILLIANT Miami engine, which engine was even better than its original US designed Coyote, and which Aussie designed improvements are now being incorporated into US Mustang variants.

I have always wondered about how values of GT's will go in the future. My brother has a BF cobra and the value seems to have a yo-yo effect he plans to hang on to it for a few more years,he wonders if it will be a collectable in years to come and i also wonder if my BF GT-P will be worth anything.

I plan to hang onto my GT-P for a few years but have been tempted recently by a FG GT-E in black. I took a 5L GT for a test drive about 6 weeks ago and was completely blown away by it.It was awesome in every way a big step up on the GT-P i own and my car is no slouch but the way the power comes on in the 5L is mind blowing and the balance/handling and brakes are incredible.

I have no doubt the last ever falcon will be something very special. It's a shame that FPV and HSV are coming to a end the VF GTS is a truly wicked piece of kit that can more than hold it's own against anything from AMG or BMW M division and i have no doubt this next FPV will do the same. The amount of Australian engineering that has found it's way into Ford and Chev products in the USA is something that we should all be very proud of.

Hey Andrew - you would have got a laugh today.

Pulled up behind two utes, one in each lane, at a set of lights on top of one of the on ramps onto Roe Hwy. Left lane was boy wonder with baseball cap round the wrong way in the souped up black HSV V8 dunnydoor ute, making heaps of noise.

Right lane was old bloke in pretty stock looking blue XR6 Falcon ute.

Lights changed - black HSV made heaps of noise and lurched forward - boy wonder trying desperately to be the first to where the two lanes merge into one.

Old bloke takes off smartly in the Falcoon - very quiet, couldn't hear him at all with all the racket coming from the black piece of **** - and comfortably beat the dunnydoor V8 to the single lane.
    Cheers .........

I know a guy who paid about 96k for a new HSV 'Monaro' with absolutely all the fruit about 8 years ago.

Even he admitted the dealers knew he liked a drink and 'saw him coming' so to speak.

Think it got sold for about 20k a couple of years ago. Then he got a Senator.

    Innocent question,
What Hipo cars with no racing heritage have increased in value significantly?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
