I can't believe people would post Unit Info and possible Locations on an open forum....what the F%^% happened to security????

This annoys me no end!!!!!!!!!

This same issue occured before about the same bloody pic on the REMLR forum and I had a bitch there......for pete's sake ladies and gents even [i]ifthis info is correct, and freely available, why be guilty of posting potentially sensative information here?

You can post info about this vehicle without the detailed unti info!!!!

Let me remind those who are in uniform....even if it is a bloody choco uniform, posting this information to a puplic forum is a breach of the Official Secrets Act and is a offence under the DFDA!

For the rest of us, how about some common sense and avoid posting unit dispositions on public forums, whether it is accurate info or not!!!

Don't like my rant....that's cool....if this keeps happening, I'll not bother returning to the forum anyway.

A point well made but consider that many people are probably not aware that:
1) This information can be of a sensitive nature
2) It is illegal to post such information in this way.

Hopefully now they are aware, they will desist from doing so and stick to just the Land Rover part and not the unit details.

It's the Land Rovers we are interested in, after all, not the detailed dispositions of Australia's fighting forces. (or at least, I hope so!)

Oh and by the way: choco uniforms ? WTF is that ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Your point is valid.....a sad and disappointing situation but valid.

As for choco uniforms...

Choco = Chocolate Soldiers, Weekend Warriors, Cut Lunch Commandoes, Saturdays and Sundays Relaxing....and so on.......

Consider me p^$$'d off...so I will simply avoid the forums from now on!

Goodbye

My appologies for posting so-called "sensitive" info. However this information IS available to ANYONE from the Aus. Army website, including unit info, vehicle info etc. where they are posted and what ever you like. Where do YOU THINK I got the info?????? Sucked out of my thumb???? There were links in my post to the source of information ie 'references'. IF this information was obtained through other than publicly available channels IT WOULD NOT BE POSTED. GET REAL. I am not a choco uniform so I have no source of Aus Mil informationn other than what's available on the net.

The information is not limitted to Australia only as I am sitting in LCCC (Land of Cuckoo Clocks and Chocolate aka Switzerland), so anyone anywhere friend or not could read it. I am sure Aus Army. would be VERY careful about putting ANY information of sensitive nature on their website(s). If it is available in the public domain there can be no breach of security. It has to be assumed that any information in the public domain can and will be read by anyone anywhere and I am sure Aus Army does too.

BTW, the reason for posting this was purely for intrest's sake – an interesting Land Rover spotted somewhere on the planet ...

So, in reality, this is not 'sensitive info' as it is available in the public domain and was obtained by a simple 'net surfing'. CHECK IT OUT on the Australian Army website – and just follow the links to infantry units – everything is THERE... and stop whining.
So you're p****d off, so boo hoo hoo – put it to music and sing it someone who cares. One advice – Get the FACTS first before criticising anyone. This includes review of the SOURCE of information. Knee-jerk reactions do not help ANYONE. If you're so concerend with Australian security contact the Australian Army Webmaster and get THEM to remove that type of info.

This place is starting to sound like my Fairey Overdrive
