Dodging the Swear Filter?

No it doesnt....

because that is how it comes out when you type it see my post above. So you dont know what swear word it is for example it could have been

****head
****head

so yes we know your trying to use/ or have reposted a swear word but we dont know which one because the filter has done its job. we know you haven't tried to dodge even if you quote and repost because we know what it looks like in the filter


however if we were unsure whether you had typed the word or whether the filter had done it, we type it in the mods pen to check first to see if and how the filter picks it up before warning someone.

Swear filter dodges are not automatically picked up, they require an eyeball to see it and a finger on a key/mouse to report it. So to anyone viewing, it didn't look like a dodge, because it wasn't.

because as I explained to someone recently its not about the word that was dodged it was the act of doing it.

so you may note that dickhead is not in the filter

however if you typed d1ckhead <<<<then this is obviously someone trying to make sure the word gets past the filter as why else would you use a number to replace a letter.

****** is also not in the filter however typing it like this Wa**ker is still a dodge, as its the act of actually replacing letters that shouldn't be replaced, does that make sense?


I looked at the link and no it is not a dodge because head isn't a swear word and if you typed the swear word just like this ****head you will see that it only stars out the offensive part adding a full stop as I have already said is not a dodge its just punctuation

I am with Allan. Surely there are enough words in the English language to express yourself without resorting to swear words. Jim
