The only time i have been lucky enough to see Pearl Jam was the tour with the Avocado album they were supported by Ben Harper awesome night. When they joined each other for a few songs it was magical.
Saw jet at the big day out the year Tool headlined,After a brilliant set by John Butler jet came out and just sounded like ****,easily the worst act of the day and when take into account some of the crap you get on some of the side stages it was big effort.
Early INXS very cool,i thought it was sad the way the rest of the band went about finding a new singer on a pathetic TV show. They were never going to replace Michael Hutchinson he brought more to the band than just a voice they should have laid the whole INXS thing to bed.
I have never heard a good thing said about Gary Cherone's time with Van Halen. The only two good things he ever did was marry Suzie Demache and stop singing.
best concert I have been to was Rod Stewart's last tour, that guy can entertain. Honourable mention to ZZTop at Festival hall in Melbourne. The worst was Fleetwood Mac about 25 years ago, Stevie Nicks was way out of it!
Would have to say Rage Against The Machine.
I never got see them live when I was younger (still not too old), but they regrouped for one more tour after coachella. Was a great night!
AC/DC's Black Ice tour would also be on par.
The best spectacle... With an average performance (Happily free tix made it worthwhile), would have to be 30 Seconds To Mars' last tour. It was all just too perfect, and not raw enough.
Some other great gigs would have to be:
The Living End @ The Metro
The Whitlams @ The State Theatre
Just got in from watching Hugh Laurie (House and Blackadder) and his band playing two and a half hours of jazz/blues. Absolutely brilliant. Very entertaining chat and wonderful music, a true entertainer.
