Ok, home now and mulling over what improvements to make. Just a quick comment before that though - it is now my new favourite camping item (next to the 101) :D. Didn't need to go and hunt for wood all day - just a few dead branches broken up keeps it going all night - along with a few briquettes we took along. :)
So, I will be doing the following to it :-
- Make up a grill for it. We found a couple of bits of steel at the camp ground and cooked on it almost every meal - just balanced the fry pan or pot on it, and always had a billy on it.
- Put some legs on it to stabilise it somewhat.
- Put a length of chain on it so it can be moved while hot.
- put a couple of hangers on it so I can hang some tongues and a flappy thingy from it while using it.
- Maybe make some brackets to hold my little spit...
- Drill a few more holes in it.
- Make a box for it so everything else in the back of the trailer doesn't get dirty.
That should keep me out of trouble for a couple of hours this weekend. :)
If I could add one more suggestion.....Make up mesh base to keep the fire from off the bottom of the bottle and make sure there are one or two air drawing holes beneath that mesh. That should improve the drawing of the whole thing.

The worst thing I found was the smell - the odourant they use in the gas collects in the bottle and bloody stinks. The smell ended up in my clothes and on my skin. SWMBO made many comments on it, but loves the end result.
