I've heard the boy is autistic and the cat was part of his family and had appointed itself to look after him.

I thought when I saw the video and the cat returned to the boy, that it was part of the family.

This happens a lot more than you hear about.
It's the owners that need a bullet !

I saw exactly the same thing forty-five years ago at the pub in Blackwater, except it was Blue Heeler. And it was a weedy little cat, but it had kittens in the back of the pub, and there was this bloke used to spend most of every day in the pub, with his dog chained on the back of his ute out the front - one day it slipped its collar and went exploring.

What breed, or part thereof, would you say that dog was? (Insert eye roll emoticon).

I don't reckon it matters. To stalk a kid like that then pounce on him like it did, lucky that supermoggy was around to save the day.

Apparently the cat adopted the family it walked home from a park with them . The wife was allergic to cats but they kept it. When the kid was born they kept on finding it asleep in the cot with the boy. Some animals are way better than humans.

When I saw it on the news last night, the American lady (as it happened in California) said Labrador, BUT no way, we've had Labs and not only do they look nothing like that, I've never EVER heard of one do anything wrong, they're chosen as guide dogs and hearing dogs FFS. Clearly poorly researched journalism...again.

I believe it was a pit bull / Rhodesian ridgeback or similar bastardisation. But it doesn't matter, should be destroyed and owner prosecuted (at least).
