You have to remember that these guys deal with many times the volume of parcels and post than other shipping companies.
Ever tryed to track anything with Royalmail, I have 2 parcels coming at the moment & the tracking numbers keep coming up invalid numbers & i have contacted the senders & they tell me the numbers are correct:mad:
Yep, used them a few times. They are usually cheaper and I've never had a problem. I actually have an exhaust stud kit coming with them at the moment. Royal mail tracking has it arriving in Australia on 14th of August and then it's gone into the black hole that is Australia Post:mad:. My wife is going to the PO to see if they just didn't bother leaving a card when we weren't home or something.
Most international mail would go to Sydney and customs officers would inspect it, it will then go onto the various states. I doubt much international mail would go from UK direct to Darwin. Brisbane might be a mail hub.
Planes fly to major centres. Darwin would be a minor airport for overseas freight.
When we send mail to a couple of suburbs away, the mail first gets sent to a distribution centre way over the other side of Melbourne then comes back to our side to be delivered. It's how Aus post networks their mail system.
Yep. Near everything I order OS goes to Sydney first then most stuff (even large parcels) goes straight here to Darwin on a plane. I have had some things that have taken 2 or 3 days to clear customs, not due to problems just a back log.
i don't know what's going on at the moment but everything seems to be going via road and not straight to Darwin. The last parcel went to Canberra (there's a Lyons suburb there too) and now this one to Brisbane.
I just don't know how they can run a business like they do.
I received one of my parcels this morning , there was no mor tracking after the parcel left UK , so I would say my other parcel now its left UK will also not have tracking . Thanks Aust Post:mad:
My second package left U.K on the 28th by Royal Mail& is now in the hands of A.P. so who knows where it is now:cool: probely doing a trip around Australia.
I hade a parcle sent last week fron 2 suburbs away took one week to come & went to 6 places before i received it .:o
Australia post is closing the post office where I have my PO box , they say they don't have enough business. This AP owned branch has around 1500 PO boxes all rented out & when ever I go there. there is at least 10 people waiting to be served. This branch is in large industrial & when it closes people with PO boxes will have to go to private P.O in large shopping centre a couple of k's down the road , then find a car park which is almost impossible at the best of times , also won't be able to pick up after 9am un like now where PU is after 7am I wonder how manu more AP branches will to cut cost.
