Yes!! You are dead right, BB! Maybe he got rid of the landie because he couldn't take to the aluminium with a gas axe without melting the whole bloody lot!!!

.....or maybe he dosn't talk about it because he DID melt the thing....

Really! I'm surprised they didn't have one there. Perhaps they figure that if it's not here it can't be shown up by the disco 3.

I see the Sunday Mail had a pretty good write up on the Freelander. The writer mentioned low range. I didn't think the Freelanders had a transfer case.

Arrogance and confusion is my guess.

The Toyo RR is a Lexus

The Toyo Discovery is a LC

Spot the difference?

The Toyo Defender is a 78/79 series. They weren't there and Landrover's reply was a Challenge Defender Not for Sale and the doors locked.

Its a game of chess.

I must be a bit behind the times, what's a challenge defender?
Is it anything to do with the G4 challenge?

Yep. Absolutely everything to do with the G4. Most of the Defenders are used to lug all the support gear around.

Man, I'd love one of those G4 Defenders in my driveway!

I drove one of the G4 Challenge Defenders
on the Solihull test tracks.

The Clutch was short and grabby, the power steering was on its way out and the gear change was as slow as a wet week unless you crunched it.
It did feel good though in the rough ... 8)
Didnt notice the mileage but my guess is it had done a few more than many.

They certainly look good don't they. I read a good article in Land Rover Owner International where they took a couple of these down a river course in Spain, one that the locals said was imposible to drive.
Naturally a bunch of guys in Landys had to prove them wrong. Even found the remains of an old rangie that got washed away 20 years earlier trying to do it.

Yeah, I rekon they would have worked pretty hard. And bear in mind they were driven by people who had no prior knowledge of how to drive a 4WD properly - then there is always the attitude of "I didn't pay for it so I won't need to take care of it!" and "if I break it the support crew will fix it!"

Still, I love that burnt orange colour and the decals and all that. They really stand out from the crowd!
