Interesting descision by the Aussies.![]()
Makes sense to me, Bob
BBC Sport - Muttiah Muralitharan hired by Australia as bowling consultant
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The Aussie cricket team haven't been comfortable against decent spin, especially in India. A left field solution, which could just work. Bob

Muttiah is one of the worlds greatest bowling cheats.
It was and remains an absolute disgrace that Darrell Hair was crucified on the altar of 'sub continent' cricket power (money) correctness and that the rules were subsequently changed to allow this 'chucker' to continue to bowl with his 'unorthodox' action.
Remember Ian Meckiff ?, well I do. He was absolutely crucified and destroyed for a (maybe) slightly off action, nothing nearly as 'wrong' as the action of this Sri Lankan bowling cheat.
For this 'chuckers' action to be recognised as an acceptable part of the game exemplifies the total corruption of the game and the power wielded by the sub continent cricket boards. Money is everything.
For Australia to 'dignify' this cheats actions by showing acceptance of his 'chucking' in hiring him is an absolute disgrace and a low point in Australian cricket.
This bloke is a cheat, has always been a cheat and no amount of corrupt ICC bull**** or Australia's **** weak hiring of the man will make it any different.
Deano![]()
I think it is inspirational thinking, no amount of parochial chest beating will change the current statis quo in World cricket. Muri has 800 wickets, ratified by the ICC. Call him a cheat if you want, but sometimes you must employ a poacher to be game keeper. You stay ahead of the game, or out of it. Good call by Aus. Cricket. Bob

Sorry I agree with Deano as to his cheating action, his arm is bent in the action, which goes against the rules of a bolwing action, he's not bolwing, he is throwing the ball and it is much more obvious than previous bowlers that were banned from the game for the same reason.
Having said that, is it a good move to have him as the bowling coach, I say yes, seeing as they changed things to suit his action, might as well take advantage of it, can't beat em, join em.
Baz.
Cheers Baz.

if Muttiah had been made to bowl or change his action to be within the honoured rules of the game he would never have 800 wickets.
in my opinion he goes collectively in the same bucket as all the olympic and sporting cheats who place results ahead of honesty.
this decision by Australian Cricket will probably result in me not watching or caring for Australian cricket again.
so in effect the Australian Cricket Board are going to employ the worlds greatest known (not ratified....not enough guts)cricket cheat to coach our bowlers into becoming also cricket cheats.
I am sure every Australian bowler has always hated and given the opportunity to, would have had him struck out of the game.
now they're going to lick his arse.....why .....sell your souls to the devil.....fame and fortune is far more important than honesty and integrity isn't it?
I would say it is a "business descision", by the Aussies. Big bucks involved so they have decided to get him on side. The days of being a "good sport" are over......sadly!![]()
it's like inviting Lance Armstrong to coach our Olympic cycling team......credibility.
why isn't Shane Warn more involved?
