Well top this I just had some turf delivered yes at 1730hrs Sunday so guess what I will be doing for the next few hours anyway he told me he had just bought a Holden FWD, I asked him does it have lowrange he said no it's an auto and then stated it would go anywhere I could go in my 110 I just looked at him and said I would really like to see that!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a goose for even saying anything like that anyone else had a similar experience lately

I don't mind independent suspension, or any other design as long as it's effective on and off road, and bushable. Not sure about current designs, but it might get there.
Personally I'd like something based on the current Defender, complete with live axles.

Im not bagging them for going for profit, I just want them to go the 4wd drive way not the urban taxi :twisted:
Fair enough. There is one ray of hope. Brands need a "hero" for a halo effect over the rest of the cars. That's why LR dealerships often have a Series car in the showroom, and a few brand new Defenders around. So I don't think LR will go entirely soft. It would destroy what it stands for. Even if it made a loss on the "hardroader" it would make up for that loss with extra sales of the rest.

I remember reading about the release of (I think it was the Nissan Navarra 4WD) some mediocre 4WD ute. There were 20 of these 4WD utes going out for a day, most with jurnolists driving. It wasn't enough that they had 20 4WDs, they took along one Land Rover in case they got stuck!!!!
Hi all, judging by what Matthew Taylor (LR big wig) has commented on during the numerous interviews he had during disco 3's launch, the Defender is not dead, and as mentioned above a new one is due here in 06/07, they just wanted to focus on Disco 3, the Rangie Sport and the replacement for the Freelander. From what he has daid the Disco 3 chassis has been built with the new fender in mind, to save them money later on, he hopes to 'modernise' the new fender whilst keeping its LR heritage and maintain its look as the true image of LR. Lets hope these comments are true and he hopes to see it through. Matt
HHHMMMMMMMMMMM does that mean the new defender will lose the live axles?
I bloody hope not, I want one one day. If it does terrain responce might make an appearance. Matt
