Hi All, first of all, fuel has been consitantly around 1.15/ltr here. Secondly craigo, scarp the trading post, its good but there better places to search. get onto www.carsales.com and www.carpoint.com, do a search for discos on that, you can search for private and dealer used cars, and most have photos. The only problem I had when searching on there was the majority of vehicles were in vic which should suit you. Give it a crack there are more on these web sites than in the trading post, plus you dont get phots in thr TP. Matt

This is exactly what I did, with these two sites you can search by state. In general I found carpoint a little dearer than the trading post, but was a good gauge on which top base my budget. I ended finding my disco in the trading post, was at a dealer just around the corner from home. I also spent a lot of time cruising the car yards.Originally posted by Ace

There werent any good TDi examples in any dealers near here. As a result i drove to canberra to get mine. Just remember Craigo, by law a dealer can sell you anything which isnt raod worthy, in theory anyway. A private seller can on the other had cover things up to make it look good then a few Km's later it rares it ugly head and you cop the bill. Buying privately will save you a few grand in some cases but make sure you are thorough and that you are confident with you diagnostic ability. If you are unsure ask the seller who his mechanic is and then take it somewhere else, chances are he is best mates with the mechanic and his opinion might be a tad biased. NRMA represeantive repairers are good a full check over the vehicle will cost you around 120 bucks. Matt
