A Rover v8 with free flowing exhaust....they put out way more noise than a small v8 should. I know a bloke with a custom exhaust shop..lots of American muscle cars there at any given time. He does fantastic work and cant get over the sound the rover alloy motors make when freed up. Aside from that big block chevy v8s in ski boats and hemi 245 and 265. Up there also are fully worked and rolerised holden blue motor 6's as they go past 6000 rpm...
Cheers

Exhaust notes
How about the 'Hennessy Venom GT' 7Lt V8 twin turbo that powers the fastest production car in the world, sounds awesome at idle with a very lumpy cam and overlaying turbo whistle, plenty of clips on YouTube. Well worth a listen if you have an element of petrol head in you.

In my past I had an XWGT 351 Winsdsor thought that sounded great but must say I love the note from Ferrari FXX, plus I'm a bit partial to the note that emanates from the FANTOM going at it in the bush!:p
Rover V8's just sound niiicccee!!!!!

Probably taking this from a different point of view to many, but for me I love the howl of a BMW E46 M3. Purely the sound of a fantastic engine working, no flash exhaust trickery!
