My TR6 with its rear half of the exhaust off….
I'm sure it's not just me, but I find the sound a car makes is very important almost more important than looks, for example I can overlook certain ugly yank tanks because they sound so mean.
Anyway I thought I would share my favourite sounding exhaust note
It's a BRM 1.5 litre supercharged V16. Very interesting car (doesn't look half bad either).

There's a YouTube audio link
(You will probably want to upgrade your speakers as they won't go loud enough)
Feel free to better that sound.

Without doubt, 185i VR Commodore.
Sounds ok but for me nothing beats a Rolls Royce Merlin at full noise.
Love the sound of that BRM motor. V16, 1500cc, twin superchargers, 600hp!

the 71 series V8/V12 GM diesels working hard sound great.
XW / XY GT Falcon with a cam and a decent exhaust system. Heard a classic one driving past me in Fremantle on Sunday. Sounds better than a Dunnydoor any day of the week (sorry Mick).
But there's not much can beat the sound of an Aston Martin V8 when someone is giving it a few berries.
A regular visitor to our office also has an AMG Merc V8 that sounds nice when he boots it up Stirling Highway (not as good as an Aston though).![]()

I couple of years ago I was once stopped for a random breath test by a lone copper in the middle of the Kiewa valley.
I pulled up and of course left the D2 idling. First thing he said was - "nice sounding truck" !
So according to him the winner is a TD5 with no cat and a 3" exhaust !
