It's a bit like ancient Egypt or Soviet Russia where certain figures out of favor are officially expunged from the history book.

Totally agree with most of the posts in this thread, and in particular, these 2.

However, trial by media of people accused of these crimes seems to be the current flavour. If it makes a headline, and there are no repercussions for them, then the media will run with it & flog it to death.

Unless....

There is a risk to themselves (the media) that someone will fight back. I am referring to the current, and on-going, mutilation of girls by "senior members of their group"

There appears to be a certain amount of dis-interest by the media, the authorities, and the judicial system, often citing "Cultural differences" as the reasoning.

So, how is it we can chase down & spend huge amounts of money on elderly offenders (which I have no problem doing, btw) but we wont risk offending a different "culture"? Something wrong here.

I never thought that much of Rolf Harris .... full stop!!
It has for many years always seemed strange that he promoted himself as a true blue ozzie and made **** loads of money from it ... and yet he has lived in London for the past 30-40 years

On another note .... from one victims testimony... she was abused by Harris since her teens but still went to his home for more abuse into her 20's !!! .... go figure!!
