New terror alert, certain overseas airports. USA.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The very act of more invasive pat down searches and greater delays for travellers means that the terrorists are winning.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

The real winners are of course the companies that supply the airport security. It is in the interest of their shareholders to hype up the perceived risk every so often, gives them a definite financial boost. The actual risk to the general population remains small regardless of the level of security theatre.

And then again, all it takes is for a couple of smart mullahs, with access to the internet, to create panic out of nothing. They don't really have to do anything, just create the impression they are. But who want's to take the risk, that they are, or not? How much money is that going to bleed out of the USA, trying to track that. How long will the poorer people put up with hardship, some of which could be helped by the money spent on defence, in the US.? Hopefully, the radicals will be overcome by the moderates. Bob
