Changes to P plate allowed vehicles

Looks like as from 1st August, NSW has come to its senses with regards how it rates a performance vehicle. No longer is there a blanket ban on V8's.

Vehicle restrictions < Younger drivers < Drivers < Staying safe < NSW Centre for Road Safety

Click on the terms then go to the P1/P2 search

It is now calculated on a Kw per tonne formula, with a few exceptions.

    Cheers,
    Lee

Interesting that the earlier 110s (and not just the powerful V8s), while not specifically banned for P platers, require special approval as they are an "old or unusual vehicle"

Maybe they have mixed up the vehicle description with the owner description ?
