    Thank You Very Much

OK, what a weekend, it was all going well, great campsite, lovely weather(albeit very cold) great company, excited about the track we were doing, then it all went pear shaped, the second last rock step before the end, with a combination of way too much right boot, the wrong line and sudden grip we heard a very load bang from the rear, then no drive, I'm not sure what broke, but we did have a right CV seeping oil and noise from the left rear, I'm hoping it is a CV or axle or even both, just dreading if it is a diff, as we have an E-Diff, that could be expensive, so car is at the mechanics, awaiting diagnoses

So a really big thank you goes out to everyone(On this Forum) who helped with our rescue, Ron(p38arover) for posting the rescue on the Forum and relaying messages, Rob(Jonesy63) Sean and Max(SBD4) for staying with us until help arrived and helping us the get down from Airley, Jeff and Thomas(THE BOOGER), for driving all the way up to Clarence with their trailer for us, Ian and Lou(Dullbird & Muddymech) for the loan of their D90(I love it)Adam (Smokey2.8) for his work on Airley to guide us all up and take pics as well.

Thank you to all the people who offered help also and info, Erich and Shiela(Bundalene) Phil(Phil HH) who Kerry chatted on the phone on our way home and Shining, thank guys

A special thank you goes out to Graham99 and Cathy from 4wdAventurers Forum, for towing our car back to our mechanic, he drove home to drop off Adam at home(Peakhurst) and then back to Clarence to take us back and also is taking the trailer back to Jeff for us, thanks mate, you're a champ

I really really appreciate all your help, I cannot thank you guys enough for the effort put in for this rescue, this forum is brilliant and so are the people on it

    Thank You all,

    Baz, Kerry, Ness.
    Cheers Baz.

Got a call from Pete from Roving Mechanical, diagnosed as a broken rear axle, parts are now ordered, new axle and CV(don't supply separately) should be here tomorrow and ready to pick up either tomorrow arvo or Wednesday.

So I have managed to break(trust me) the (supposedly) unbreakable E-Diff axle

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

So Baz did you answer the question about driving a D3/D4 in rock crawl with a broken CV/axle/driveshaft?

You did it just to prove me wrong didn't you?

Sorry I was unavailable to help I was stuck at home with a sick wife and child.

Sorry to hear of your 'issues' Baz. Kerry & Ness...
Would have loved to help if we were at home. Sorry!

Hope the damage to the D4 goes without a hitch and also we should do a catch up soon.

BTW Ron..hope you are now on the mend.. Also

    Maybe Kerry wouldn't mind Baz's being a 'stud'......l

Well funny you should say that, I did in a way, yes I had drive, but only if going straight, with load on the drive, soon as you turn or back off you lose drive, according to Peter, I had drive because I have an E-Diff and it was the E-Diff giving me drive

But, while driving out, on one of the hills, I could feel the front wheels spinning, it could have only been one wheel, but something felt like it was spinning, I was towed from there to the house and then drove out to Capatee from the house.

Hey Baz, I think I must've missed you by only a day or two. I was set up in the main campsite at Newnes from tues-thurs last week. I did see an Amarok setup with a camper. I think I even managed a pic of perhaps your grandkids with my son? I'm sorry to hear that you got into strife and if I'd known I certainly would've offered any assistance but I think I was already back home in Kiama.

It certainly was nippy in the mornings, but the days were beaut. We managed the Glow Worm Tunnel walk which was no small effort by the little'uns

I hope you get your vehicle back on the road soon and hopefully we can catch you out on a track some time.

    Cheers, Paul

Some pics from our stay in Newnes.. is that your daughter in the background?
