Rascal alright, one of my sons has a Koolie.

Fantastic companions, very good guard dog,and very clever.Need heaps of exercise, and are very obedient.Like any farm dog,is on the go all the time.

She was scared of water for about her first 5yrs,then one day went for a swim and now loves it.She lived with us for a year or so a couple of years ago(we dragged the son back home to sort himself out,but that is another story),and learnt to hunt with our Springer Spaniel, they became a team, worked out how to do it by themselves.Watching them hunt together is amazing, mainly rabbits and hares.

I have a new nick name for Snoopy, he's now the 'Land Rover Covert Operations Manager'. He seems to sneak into pics of my rebuild operations. I'm starting to wonder if he's spying on me for someone?? 👀

Tomorrow he's going into hospital to have a couple of lumps on his left side, that have been getting bigger, cut out. They've been previously checked out and i was told they are just "fatty lumps". He has about 7 of these lumps in various spots on him but only these two are getting bigger. I have to use "vet pay" to pay the procedure off. Was quoted between $880 and $1034. Lucky i still have his "cone of shame" or that would be another $50.
They asked me if i wanted to get the lumps tested. $400. I said no coz i couldn't afford any treatment he might need. I'll just keep a watchful eye on him as i always do and if he starts to suffer i'll sort it out then.

I was talking to someone the other day, and they have spent over $7000.00 on chemotherapy cancer treatment on their dog that's 8 yrs old. I can understand it costing so much but on a dog thats only gonna live for a couple more years anyway if it wasn't sick? What about the poor thing's quality of life? Spewing, peeing and pooping everywhere? I think it's cruel to make a dog go through that pain and suffering. I felt like popping the bloke in the face. It's cruel for a human too, but thats another debate for another thread. I ain't starting it either.

    Cheers Rod.

Couple pics of the spying doggy below.

I love my best mate Snoopy.
He don't know it yet but he's about to have a bath too....hehe

Just picked Snoopy up from the vet at 3pm. Results are not good. There was 2 lumps. One was under the skin and the other was between the muscle layer and the ribs. The latter was only a little fatty lump, nothing to be concerned about. The other was what the Vet called an STS. A Soft Tissue Sarcoma. That could be very bad. He said that without tests on the lump then theres no way of knowing if its a grade 1, harmless, or up to grade 3, very very bad. If its a grade 1 then it's cured. If its a grade 2, bad, or grade 3, very bad, then he will need chemo and all sorts of drugs. I am not able to afford the tests as they will cost $400. I also cannot afford any chemo or drug regieme. I told the Vet this, and he said that i should keep a close eye on the wound area, when its healed, and if i find any new lumps, then its bad, but if, after 6 months or so, i find nothing, he will be ok. In going with the "he will be ok" scenario. He's resting now. He's a little uncomfortable atm and he's got drugs for the next few days. He's had a pretty good innings at almost 13 yrs old. I hope he's gonna be around for a few years yet. I'd be totally lost without my true best mate. A pic below⤵

    Cheers Rod

Thank you very much. I sure hope hes going to be ok. Hes been lying here wimpering and whining until I took the bucket off his head. He seems to be ok for now. Hes certainly not his usual self just yet. Time will tell.

    Cheers
