Our 3 year old Lab has been farting like a trooper for a few days. Long and loud enough that they scare even him. We just found a large downed bough from our Avacado tree and 30 pits on the ground. His cholesterol should be through the roof!

Given the condition of the leaves it has probably been down for 3 days at most. That explains the gas and the sudden apparent weight gain.

I saw a neighbour up the street and her dog set off for their usual walk yesterday, as it was raining she had an umbrella but no coat for the dog, so I think he decided to go home as they didn't make it past my house.

Did 6Km with ours yesterday in the rain, umbrella for me and Wellington boots, dog loves the rain, she was off lead all the time,no coat,no worries.

When we get home, she knows the drum, stay on the back deck,i put an old dry towel on the floor, and she will roll around on it for a few minutes, then get up and wait to be dried off with the same towel.

Fortunate. We paid top dollar for a thoroughbred who turned out to be a dud. We can maybe get a 1000M out of him on lead before we need to bring him home again. He has hip displaysia, arthritis in both elbows and his rear joints. Our Vet loves him and just calls him "Lemon". That makes it tough to keep him fit because if we push him a bit he can hardly get up the next day. If we just run him around the backyard then he's ok, but not as fit and trim as he needs to be.

As a family we've had goldies and labs since I was a kid. They were all awesome and pretty much indestructible. This guy copped all the bad genes, but the breeder is sure even though 3 orthopedic surgeons have attested he had no chance due to **** breeding, apparently it's our fault for over-feeding him (even though she gave us a manual we followed to the letter). The vet's have said it's common for breeders to blame the owners when they've cheaped out, forged joint reports or just not paid attention.

I miss having a dog I can really run around with, but after this guy I'm not sure we'll have another.
