Kilometres Driven per year in your Land Rover

    Hello All,

The Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2012 found out that on average Queensland drivers travel more kilometres per year. Tasmanians drive the lowest average kilometres per year. The last figure highlights how dependent Australia is on road transport for our goods.

The Australia Bureau of Statistics in their article 9208.0 - Survey of Motor Vehicle Use, Australia, 12 months ended 30 June 2012 found that Vehicles registered in Queensland travelled the highest number of average kilometres (14,900 kilometres), while vehicles registered in Tasmania travelled the lowest number of average kilometres (11,600). Of all vehicle types, articulated trucks had the highest average kilometres (83,000). Accessed 10th of July 2014 from 9208.0 - Survey of Motor Vehicle Use, Australia, 12 months ended 30 June 2012

How many kilometres do you drive in your Land Rover in an average year and what state/territory do you live in? How old is your Land Rover?

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

Probably has something to do with Tasmania having a much smaller area than Queensland.

Yep, if Tasmanians drive far, they fall off the edge of the world.

And kms in the last year in Land Rover(s)?

    About 10.

    Not thousands, just ten.

About 15-16000. Of that on average 5000 of it is touring so about 10,000km per year of commuting and daily driving.

Depends on which vehicle we take, 3,600 in the 101 this year, more than that in the 130, as it is our usual touring vehicle. And the several short trips we take in the series vehicles I would say 10,000 plus every year. And that doesn't count the several trips we have had touring Tassie

P.S. I think Lionel needs these contacts real soon, he seems to be getting bored...

28116.8 on average (I use a fuel log app which works it out for me )

I'm in WA, wife uses the Disco everyday doing about 50-60km, the rest is from weekends & camping trips.

    This is in a 2003 Td5 Discovery.

    Times around Tasmania

    Hello All,

According to Geoscience Australia, Tasmania's mainland coastline is 2833 km long, Accessed July 10th from, How long is the coastline of Tasmania

The Australia Bureau of Statistics, mentioned in my earlier message, states that Tasmanian Registered Vehicles on average travel 11,600 kilometres per year.

This works out that an "average" Tasmanian drives around their main island 4.094 times per year.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    Hello Mrs HH,

I can squint the bottom line of your message. Yes, your thought is absolutely correct too.

I was going to find out the perimeter of Queensland is, or how long the straight section of the Gun Barrel Highway is but people would think I am a bit sad!

    I won't do it now

However, this site - AULRO has contributed greatly to maintaining my sanity. Even though the level might be a really low one

    Kind Regards
