A little over a year ago the family brought dad a new LCD tv. All good now it only works sometimes difficult to turn on. Rang the number for warranty not a problem. Will send gift voucher for full refund. I asked about what do I do with the current tv was told to throw it in the bin no questions asked. Me thinks a know problem.
No, not worth the cost of return and repair. Most small appliances and power tools are like this nowadays. A mate had an electrical, radio, TV repair shop for 30 + years and this put him into retirement. It cost less to buy a new TV than to repair an old one. For about the last 10 years he was in the business he made his living restoring old valve radios for classic cars and high quality hi-fi components from decades ago.
