Greylandy .. now flying landy!!!

Had my ECU in the Defender remapped by Bruce Davis Performance Landys in Anangrove (NSW) .. what a huge difference 8O !! Had a 1 hour drive back to the Northern Beaches to test .. overtaking in 5th at 120kph on an uphill 8) and feels like there is lots more on tap . If you drive a TD5 Defender ... or Disco ... GET IT DONE TODAY!

Bruce also mentioned they are getting their intercoolers made in bulk (should be available in the new year) which will mean a big reduction in price. (from $2100 to around $1600) ... that is if you want a 160kw 520Nm "tear it up" landy!!!

(Anybody know where I can get a set of "flames on the side" decals  )

It is amazing the difference it makes. I remember when I first had it done and it was like driving a completely different car.

The thing I notice the most is the lack of gearchanges you need to make. It makes the engine so much more flexible.

The only concern I have is that all that additional torque is going to put more pressure on those axles and gearbox. Have to save up for those maxi-drive axles....

Yup, had mine done nearly a year ago.

Trouble is after a while you forget what it used to be like....and start hankering after more power.....

That is why Bruce makes that intercooler! I would love to have a drive of one of those 170Kw, 500Nm TD5s.

The other thing which would not go astry is some higher gearing for the freeway. I find that 5th is not tall enough with the upgraded ECU, let alone the larger intercooler. With all that torque you could idle along in 6th/overdrive.

Has anyone seen the GKN overdrive in action?

Watch out if you have a Disco TD5 auto, the extra torque can can overload the transmission and put in into 'Limp mode'.
You have to stop and swith off for 5 mins to reset it.

I believe they have now resolved that problem with some slightly different software.

That just means you can put some bigger tyres on.

Unfortunately not. But you can get a person to 'tune it up'.
Goes a bit better but lots of black smoke when driven hard.

Geez those figures make my 3.9 efi V8 look like a slug 8O
I've heard about these upgrades, I'd do it if I had a td5.
