The problem with the cantilevered steps is that thay can bend up and prevent the doors from opening.

I have these sill guards/ "sliders" on my Disco:

They have the subtle curve that both the RR and Disco original sills have.

They were purchased from Graeme Cooper in Sydney but sourced by him from:

Thes will hardly be seen. They hang just below the trim and protect the sill. they're stricltly sliders and that's the job they do.

Almost forgot jason, I can do the disco ones as I have a vehicle to work off. The rangie ones will be pretty much the same except that we'd have to get together to make them and fit them.
I was thinking that if a few of us want to do it we should get together and organise a day to do them together. I don't know if you remember that a guy on here offered his shed and equipment to use for a fee I think, we should look the thread up and contact him.
I can't weld so that would be a skill I'd need to "borrow"

OK, I have contacted Tony on the use of his facilities, and am awaiting a reply.
Here's what you'll see with the sliders installed.

That's what I reckon ace. It'd only be a sunday trip to tony's. If you can't make it though I can fit them up to mine and they'll just bolt on to yours. We'd have to spend a day in your shed though, then after a few beers I'd have to stay

No worries, depending on when it is, i might be able to make it, i just asked swmbo, the look wasnt nice. I will see how i go, but if i cant make it, it would be awsome if you could measure them up and fit them to yours, and then come out and spend a day helping me fit them, the beer will be cold. We could make another weekend of it and head out sunday morning before you head home.

Yeah they are well hidden, thats what you want. Do you have to modify the plastic sill to fit over the slider? Matt

I'll be down the coast for a couple of weeks, start work on the 4th so it'll be after that.
A weekend thing would be great. Hopefully my other half will be up for it too.
The plastic covers just screw straight onto it as they did originally.
