    Graham Vagg's VW steam engine

Talking about orbital engines in another thread bought back memories of an Engineering Officer at the Apprentice training establishment, HMAS Nirimba, back in the late 60's. He invented a steam engine, which he had hoped to fit as a alternative to a petrol engine in a vehicle. A fascinating man, I always wondered what happened to him & his engine. Bob

    an extract
    10. The prototype engine above was used to road test the first Vagg steam car chassis at the RAN apprentices school at HMAS Nirimba, Quakers Hill, NSW, Australia in 1968. This event is still a great bar room topic at Navy engineering reunions

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Here's Nev. Morris 19th. century steam tricycle. The original is in an Italian museum. Nev built this replica from photographs and drawings supplied by the museum. The first engine was a converted twin cylinder air compressor. This was a nuisance as it had to be turned over manually to a start position and likewise to reverse. So Nev built a proper steam engine for it. It runs along quite nicely. I have driven it. It is good fun.

What about Ted Pritchards Steam Powered Ford Falcon

Imagine how good this would be if it was allowed to be developed, or with modern technology / materials , or even hybridised.

That's my YouTube upload amazing how many views its had considering my main motivation for the upload was just to show some interesting footage of traffic in Melbourne. It was cut from an Australian story episode about Ted and what an interesting guy he was.
