catch me if you can jap boys
I really think the new Defender will be as important, if not moreso, than the Disco3 to LR's survival, especially in Australia.
If they get the Defender right, they will really be able to take the Toyos and Nissans on in the farming/fleet market. The only thing I cannot understand is how rationalising your dealer network in regional areas fits into this strategy??? :?
I reckon they need a bigger capacity diesel (at least 3.5ltr). Now a TD3.5 V6 would be a nice sweet motor!

2700cc in a V6 - thats 450cc per cylinder
therefore 3600cc in a V8 and 4500cc in a V10!!!
I know its not that simple, but just an idea

Yeah, the Defender might end up looking all slab-sided.... TDV6 is what I've heard on the grapevine. Or maybe it was on the sauce.
Anyway I heard it somewhere,

1. I agree.
2. I agree. Also I think you'll find that regional Ford dealerships will become Ford and LR dealer 'centres'. For better or worse.
3. Mmmm, sweet motor. Mmmmm.
The only problem of course is price.
Mainly, the fact that I won't be able to afford one.![]()

I agree with Noddy, given the nature of our wide brown land, 4wd's are a way of life. Land Rover needs to be increasing dealership presence in country areas not taking them away. Matt

wonder if they'll do an option of the 7.3L Ford engine from an F350... one of those in a D90 and i would be a very happy man 8O
