This was the Toyota camry recall I was talking about, 5.2 million, 2009-2011cars.2009

The latest one on the camry involves about 800,000 for blocking brake line filters.2014 model year.
    I never mentioned the landcruiser?

Let's not forget that cable throttles have jammed on in the past, and how many mechanical diesels have "run away" over the years by running on their own oil...

I thought the Colorado/imax had a chassis not monocoque design?

    Apologies:
The Isuzu and Colorado have a hybrid monocoque/chassis design. They have chassis rails (albeit made from pretty light sheet metal) from the front of the cabin forward. The actual passenger compartment is however a monocoque design.

I'm also guessing that the "Sports Bar" had a fair bit to do with preserving the roof line. Things could have been a whole lot worse without it. Does anyone know if these bars are a part of the ANCAP rating for these dual cabs? Just wondering as they used to charge extra for them and now they are standard equipment?

They do seem quick to blame the FBW don't they?

I don't know any more about this incident than anyone else here but I'd go with the "lack of experience" scenario too. It looks to me that instead of taking it gently and backing off the throttle after a second or two without traction he kept his foot to the floor and hoped for the best and unfortunately, when he did get traction, it was sudden and took him by surprise causing him to panic.

As far as the panic idea goes. You only have to look what happens the very first time people ride motor bikes. LOL

    Happy Days.
