I have no doubt this topic has been done before but i couldnt find it.
I am planing to drive to alice springs anlong bridsville track and through the desert on the french line in couple of months, and its my first time out there, (not last im sure).
What are good tyres. what have people found about BF A/T and M/T
    or Cooper ST-C and Suretrac?
I have seen some people tell you to lower tyre pressure on gravel roads and some to use hire pressure, and now im confused can someone tell me what has been proven to work? I know to lower them when in sand.

Also I am getting oziexplorer, can someone tell me if i want...

    Hi sniperator,,

i did all that in '97

getting to Birdville is the hardest part :!:

very rocky road, run at max psi.

    in the sand
mate ran his 200TDI at 18 rear 16 front, never got stuck once.
he used about 70 litres from Birdsville to ????? bar(first fuel stop)

The mighty V8 used about twice that.
and I ran 24 at the rear and 22 at the front and stopped "to check out the scenery" 3 or 4 times,,
