Hi chaps,
Thanks for all the best wishes and the offers of assistance and/or accommodation, etc.
Sorry I don't play golf so that didn't stop me getting on line. My son doesn't have a landline at home - just a mobile so I couldn't connect my laptop.
I happened to meet a witness to the accident yesterday. He says the car driver whipped around the corner straight into the side of my son. He thinks he was going for the gap in the traffic. The driver claims he didn't see my son (the bike has the headlight on whenever it is switched on).
My son has a compound fractures of the leg (both bones) so I'll have to bring him home to heal as he lives in an upstairs apartment.
He's undergoing another round of surgery this afternoon to close the wound.
We'll probably go back mid-next week
Regards and thanks again,
Ron
Glad to hear that he is on the mend. It sounds like the car driver need to remove his/her head from their arse before driving in the future, it will improve their vision somewhat. People say riding bikes is dangerous on the road, but if certain car drivers were more aware it wouldnt be. Good to hear he will be ok. Matt

Thanks for letting us know Ron, I guess it could have been worse but he will heal and hopefully soon and totally.

8) we all are relieved it isn't more serious ron, at his age broken bones mend alright, just a damm inconvience.
i guess he and the car driver will have better situational awareness now.
i used to ride, and developed my own security barrier,
just keep away from cars, it was semi's that scared me most, the rear duels are a long way from the driver, and he wouldn't notice me.
as i say in my sig. below
safe travels.
How did his second round of surgery go today ron? All went well i hope. Matt

They didn't proceed as his leg was still too swollen. Probably Monday and probably with some skin grafts.Originally posted by Ace
