I did mechanical work on quite a few in the 1960's. Right PIA. Bad accessibility. Much removal of body panels or major mechanical bits to get to the bit needing repair. Rust, rust, rust, like most pom cars of the period. The poms never liked to waste paint on anything out of sight.
Yup! I will agree with that,the better looking Cat would be the Mk 8 or 9 the last of the Jaguar looking Jag's :)

No one who is into E-types would be caught dead in a 2+2 - the body proportions are all wrong and they are the least desirable of the marque - hence their low value.
I picked up my Healey after a service and pink slip inspection yesterday and in the workshop there was an E-Type race engine. just sitting there, waiting to be sold....and it is a beautiful, beautiful engine.
The owner decided to restore the car back to normal with the original PU and sell the racing one.
