Bonhams : 1961 Jaguar E-Type 3.8-Litre 'Flat Floor' Roadster Chassis no. 850221 Engine no. R2213-9
I would hate to think what it would have looked like if it was kept outside!
Certainly a bit of a challenge in there.
It will be interesting to see what it comes up like - should I live that long perhaps......
Cheers,
Even in that poor condition those sexy lines and lovely shape still shine through, whoever let it get to that state should be shot!!!!
Once stripped and the body given an acid bath it's just a restoration, the people, very patient people who do this type of thing actually like rusty complete cars over better condition but not complete cars.Big job but plenty of experience out thier. Pat
That is a particularly rare and sought after version but nevertheless it is somewhat overpriced. While early, it is now where near the earliest as they had external bonnet locks rather than the internal cabin locks that this one has.
It will take another 100,000 pounds for a specialist to bring it back to "concourse" standard and really that is the only standard you would aim for with this car.

Yes, I believe cards / trucks /motos etc that have been stored with no work etc are more sought after and get higher prices than those that have had some work done on them.
I suppose it is more original and likely to have parts from the wrong model installed
Even fully restored, it would still be one of the ugliest cars ever made![]()
