Thread: Darwin and back via Birdsville in 2.5 weeks

Hi folks,
Our family got back from Darwin last week. We went up before christmas for a Cyclone tracy 30th anniversary.We went up for a Red Cross fund raiser dinner. We travelled up in the defender 130 ute and Dad's 95 disco. We went up the stuart highway and came back via MT Isa, Birdville and Broken Hill.
No punctures and the only problem i had was that some rivets broke on the tray of my ute that some unnamed manufacturer in Sydney that a 5 year old child could of done a better job of designing!!1
Fuel consumption was within a few litres of every tank between my ute and Dad's Disco Both 300 TDI's. Will post total fuel used when i work it out. And my ute stopped leaking oil from the engine oil cooler lines on the trip. Can not believe it does not drip oil on the ground from the engine.

No worries Gaz, i have problems uploading as well, if you have dial up it takes ages for the little box to close, even after the green progress bar at the bottom is full. Matt
