Those with maxi-drive diff locks....
G'day,
Now that I am getting the front maxi-drive locker fitted as we speak, I will enlighten you all if you don't already know of the new soleniod switches that Mal Storey has had made.
The brass buttons with the grub screw are now a thing of the past and the new switches which are threded and have a larger button to engage the locker with. There not as neat, but those who have maxi's that are a few years old (like mine) the grub screw continually comes undone and sometimes the button falls off (always carrying a allen key to keep it tight) when you least expect it. I had to always keep a pair of pliers just in case it did fall off, and it did!!!
The new solenoids are $60 plus GST from maxi-drive engeneerinhg if you wish to fix this irritating problem with the switch. It's a shame that the locker is bloody fantastic and the switch is the biggest letdown of the whole package.
Contact details for maxi-Dribve engerring i don't have on me, but you can get his details off www.4wdworld.com.au/
Regards,
Trav
