not everyone wants to have a conversation at the dinner table.
i do believe technology is giving us a shorter attention span and an instant gratification complex
I know that we cannot blame the mobile phones, tablets etc and the "ball is on parents to play" but this news is a worry.
I just wonder in how many families communication it is limited because all the members are busy with the mobile phone?
How many of them cannot put the digital pigeon down and have a conversation at the dinner table?
When a toddler asks Siri a question rather than daddy, it's time to put down our smartphones
not everyone wants to have a conversation at the dinner table.

I agree...I've effectively given up on the commercial stations..no sooner have the ads finished but they're running ticker-tape ads during the show as well... if someone interrupted a face to face conversation like that they'd be "told" not to be rude...![]()

How can you seriously have a conversation at the dinner table these days. every subject you bring up gets the response " I know"
and when asked how come you know this before I do and the answer is Multimedia! Facebook, Forums. Why talk to one another when you can text, read, and everything else online.
At least I get a couple of forum members actually ring me to have a talk and see how I'm getting on. Yes, verbally on the telephone!makes you feel wanted.
