Rally spectators never seem too put much thought into the seating. I am surprised with the level of protection put into all the other motor sports yet rally people can stand right beside the road.

Not in this country. We put a lot of effort into spectator safety.

Standing right beside the road isn't necessarily dangerous, it's where and how you do it that's the problem. Sitting on the outside of the exit of a corner just isn't smart.

    Cheers,

In other Rally News,One-off Rally for Loeb.

Just when you thought he was gone after a decade of total domination. Sebastien Loeb is back on the Rally trail. However, the nine-time world champion is returning for one event only-the Rallye du Var in the south of France. Loeb will be in the familiar cockpit of a Citroen DS3 WRC and will be co-driven by his wife,Severine. Loeb signed off his WRC career with an uncharacteristic roll on his final event, the Rally of France last year. He made a brief return on the Condroz Rally in Belgium last November. But since then he has been fully committed to the World Touring Car Championship. As a Rallying couple the Loebs have an unbeaten record. They won the Rallye du Var in 2009 in a Citroen C4 WRC and have since stacked up wins in Monza in 2011 and the Condroz. "I'm pleased to have the opportunity to compete in the Rallye du Var with Severine," Sebastien said. "It's always nice to both be in the car to share,on the road, this passion that we have always had in common. "I am now fully focused on my WTCC program. But rallying is my first love,as they say."
