code of practise for light motor vehicles NSW?

does anyone have an NSW copy?
    would be 1994, last ran.

I rang the RTA to obtain one to be told that there is a
national one being printed ''sometime this year''
Now coming from QLD to NSW i have to get a blue slip
in which i have 28 days to fix the faults!!!

is there such a thing in NSW like QLD's pre-roadworthy???
where i dont have 28 days to fix. :x

how much work does it need?
it will need a blue slip now.
if you wait till the rego expires it will need a blue slip.
if you hand in the plates and collect whatever ids left of the rego it will need a blue slip.

until it is blue slipped and registered in nsw it wont exist.
if it doesnt exist there is no time limit.
only prob is you cant drive it on the roads unregistered.

one more question...have you had a look on the rta website?

Yep thats where i got the You need a blue slip for inter
    state rego transfers??!??!?!

She dosent need anything major, i think?
i do all the repairs, mods and mantainance frequently
its just things like brake pads, oil leaks that sort of thing.

the funniest thing is that its cheaper for me
to register in nsw with ctp. by nearly $200.

Ok, no there isnt any other way out of it. The best thing to do is take it to a mechanic and ask them to look over it and tell you what will fail a blue slip and then tell them you will get it fixed and bring it back.

You only need to blue slip an unregistered vehicle if it has been out of rego for more than 3 months.

Go over the vehicle, clean it, make sure everything is neat and tidy. Invest in a pressure cleaner (or hire one), get some cans of degreaser from Big W, degrease the engine and everything underneath the morning before you go for the blue slip. When you get there there will be no oil leaks, what they dont see wont hurt them. Just make sure that all bushes, suspension, pads etc are good and go for the blue slip. When i did my disco after buying it in the ACT, the steering box leaked like you wouldnt beleive. I degreased it and the rest of the engine bay and the guy didnt even pick it up. I took it back the the guy a few weeks later and asked him about a reco box. Then i said i could just keep the oil up to it and leave it. He said "Oh you cant do that it wont pass rego", this after he passed it for a blue slip. Which is more thourogh than pink slip.
