    anybody here employ juniors?

just trying to find some info on wages and min/max. hours

my nearly 15yo is stoked with his hourly rate, he normally gets his 12hrs/week (max. hours apparently, not that we want him doing any more)

the shop has an EA with a flat rate of pay, however the award pays more

just compared his pay rate to what's on fair work website....is there any other websites that I can look at?

I just haven't got my head around flat rates and/or if I have the right award......he works at a fish and chip shop

Determine which union covers the job and ask one of their organisers or industrial officers.

So $7.40/hr by my calculations... (38 hr week), however there should then be a 25% loading for casuals (I think) - which brings it to $9.26/hr.

    Also have a read here:
Minimum wages - Fact sheets - Fair Work Ombudsman

If you calculate based on national minimum wage you get $6.75/hr and $8.43 with casual loading. AFAIK it is unlawful to [pay below national minimum wage.

That's what my young bloke gets in a similar job - full time, so looks like it should be on the money (excuse the pun)
