LRA in latest Outback Magazine

I was flicking through the latest Outback and saw an article about some fossils found on a property in SA. It was the biggest bone ever found in OZ. I noticed that the archaeologists were driving a Defender 130. In another picture I saw a D90. The article had now picqued my interest and I found out that Land Rover Australia had loaned three vehicles to the team to continue their work in the area.

    Good material for an advertisement.

But will they take advantage of same..... not on past track record....

Besides there's always the danger of the 'Cruiser faction comparing the Landies to the fossils.

The fact the fossils are still there after millions of years (not having rusted away ) will escape them.....
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

i heard about this a lil while back, it's a Land Rover sponsorship... this is off their website

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Queensland Museum

    Discovering our Past

Land Rover Australia is helping Queensland Museum's Palaeontologists with their ongoing quest to explore, collect and recover Australia and Queensland's precious fossil heritage.

Since 2001 they have unearthed some of Australia's most spectacular dinosaurs, among them Australia's biggest sauropod "Elliot".* Estimated to be have been 16-21 metres long, 3.5-4 metres high at the rump and weighing 22-28 tonnes, Elliot was indeed a massive sauropod.

In 2003 it was discovered Elliot did not die alone.* He had a companion, a second sauropod, whom Australian scientists have named "Mary".* Based on the bones recovered to date, it appears she was approximately half the size of Elliot and is very likely to be the same type of sauropod as Elliot.

Land Rover is assisting in the search for dinosaurs like Elliot and Mary by providing the Department of Palaeontology with the use of a Defender 130 Crew Cab and access to other vehicles for their dig projects and field exploration.

As more of Elliot and Mary's skeletons are still trapped beneath the ground, Land Rover will continue to support this bone breaking work (excuse the pun) of the Queensland Museum Palaeontology Department to bring history alive.
