Just a reminder for those don't visit the forum every week that there is now a new 'Current Affairs' section where members can discuss all the topics that are to contentious or include politics, religion etc for the main General Chat section.
    Cheers,
    Terry

False advertising (for the aforementioned section), wishful thinking or infraction?

I for one think that it is a good idea. Yes, it may not last, but there again it might. As to the naysayers, well there was a thread the other day where a fellow got abused for saying he wanted to put a manual box into an auto Disco. Most people on this forum are very helpful and supportive. It is a great site in that respect. But this particular thread was pretty disgusting - it did get out of hand with the insults flying. The old adage - you you have nothing good to say - don't say anything. If you don't want to talk politics, good! You don't have to, but please do not tell others what to think. It's a lot easier to be politely quiet.

Another great example of what makes this forum the most open one I've seen, I think its a sign of maturity that it is possible to have a section like that. Well done to all involved.

Tom, I cannot understand how people can get upset about technical issues like the one that you have just mentioned.
Even if someone say that the Toyota FJ40 it is more comfortable than a Range Rover Classic it should not cause abuse by others.(then again )
IMHO the problem is when we discuss international politics and affairs, that can get a bit hot.
Some members do not comprehend that many of us have lived different experiences and them have formed a view that it is very hard to understand by those that only have lived in this peaceful country or never experienced civilian unrest, torture or even death of love ones.
As long as we can debate in a sensitive form there will be no offense to others.

    Tom.

Hi Tom, occasionally there is a thread that slips through that no Mod manages to pick on. However I would ask everyone to report anything out of hand as soon as they see it.
It's not a case of dobbing in either, it's really about making sure the forum that we are all members of stays an enjoyable and friendly place to visit. If things are allowed to get out oh hand and blues become common place then good people will walk away and that is not good for anyone of us, because I reckon if you own a Land Rover then you have a vested interest in seeing this valuable asset for all Land Rover owners isn't undermined.
    Cheers,
    Terry

Well good luck to you TerryO and any other poor mod for this new section.

    I wont be signing up.

I question why effort, time and a portion of subscription dollars go towards an area where a handful of folk wanting to "debate" everything ad nauseum on a 4wd site let alone a Land Rover forum.

Nothing new here it will end up the same as every other effort.

There are a multitudes of sites for these people, is there a reason they don't wish to do that? I suspect there is but stating it here would have me receive an warning from the mods.
There is another thing called email. They could group mail or individually "debate" there enlightened thoughts and colleagues without insisting it be part of an unrelated forum or even start their own forum.

    Bah humbug.
