Thread: 2016 Defender... apparently!!!

My wife rang our insurance to cancel our Dmax insurance and insure her new 90 which we are picking up tomorrow. This is how the call went:

After giving the existing policy number (so she has it on the screen in front of her) she asked "So this is for the Suzuki I-Max?"
Me "No it's for an Isuzu D-Max"
Her "And what do you want to change it to"
Me "A Land Rover Defender"
Her "Can you spell that? Does is start with a G?"
Me "No that's a D for Defender"
Now I'm assuming here that the options to select from on their system are exactly the same as the options you see online...
Her "Is in an automatic?"
Me "No they only come in manual"
And after sorting out the other details
Her "If the car's written off in 2 years we'll give you a new one exactly the same"
Me "Are you sure? This is the last year of manufacture"
Her "No, No, we can give you a new car exactly the same until the end of 2016"
Me "Okay then!"
Now I can see why they want you to buy your insurance online! Hahaha!




So apparently Defender production is continuing for insurance companies. I wonder if Land Rover know

Get it in writing!!!!
