Ah yes the exceedingly well known and popular

    NINGBO YINZHOU LIANDA ELECTRICAL CO.,LTD.

    brand. :?: :!: :?

Obviously these are Chinese but are they sold locally :?:

As to the price ? Who knows, but they'd have to be a lot cheaper than a Warn to compete in that marketplace.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

IMHO.... Don't bother with a vehicle mounted winch, they only let you winch in the one direction - Usually forwards - Further into whatever it is that has just stopped you!!! Fine if you're doing winch challenge stuff but a bit of a pain in the butt if you're overlanding!

Get yourself a Turfor, they're much more versatile as you can go in any direction you want... Even up!

BTW - If you want to check out the UK market, I always reccomend this guy: http://www.winchrepairs.co.uk/

nothing gets made in australia. the wages are too high to be feasible when it can be made overseas for less than a fraction of the cost.

some things are assembled in oz but made overseas.
anyone got a warn winch care to open up the cover and see whats made where?

what i was thinking was it might be a winch which is available here as a name brand but without the name stuck on it yet. hence why i was asking if anyone had seen one before.

this happens all the time. someone brings an item in to the country under "X" brand and sells real well. then someone else finds its origins and brings them in at half the cost under a different brand.

If you're interested there is a a Tirfor T516 (1600kg lifting and 2500kg pulling) on ebay with 1 day to go. Current bid is $360. It's located in Victoria at a place called Skye which is in the SE Suburbs about 50Kms out of Melb.
