We've just come back from 10 days holiday on the GC. TV at the apartment we rented was limited to free to air (FTA) and a few Foxtel channels. We channel hopped a lot trying to find something decent to watch. We didn't find much.

It reinforces why we have Foxtel and IQ boxes at home. FTA is absolute crap these days. We never watch TV live, everything is recorded so we can FF through adverts. As a result, I've never seen half the adverts of which you lot speak.

Record most things as well on IQ .....most of the adds we see during news and docs.....now I record the news at 6 and watch it at 6.30 and still see all the news (worthwhile) by 7pm.

I don't watch live tv if I can help it - but if I do , I find pressing the mute button during the ads helps a lot to cut down on the annoyance factor.
    cheers,

Those horrible 'Prices are down, down, down' supermarket ads. Both annoying and false, since prices keep going Up, Up Up. Should be had for false advertising.

The funny thing about those ads is the number of people who didn't know it was a real rock group singing a parody of one of their hits. The Gruen Transfer covered it once and an advertising exec was one who thought it was just a catchy jingle.

Apart from that, you're right, they're horrid.

I do like The Gruen Transfer. I hope it comes back (I assume it hasn't returned).
